Oak Tree cabin is a newly built vacation rental cabin.  It's near our Eagle's Nest, Tree Top and Eaglet cabins and, like them, is near the river, sitting up high above the river with an area to walk down to the river's edge.  It's part of an 18-acre "fish trap" location that was used by ancient American Indians hundreds of years ago.

PLEASE NOTE: The optional firewood charge of $12/night is for firewood for the outdoor fire pit. (The indoor fireplace at this property is gas.) If you don't think you will use the firewood or would like to bring your own, please let us know! We are more than happy to refund that to you.  

No parties, events, or gatherings of guests that are not included in the reservation are allowed at Oak Tree.

Please take your trash with you. There is dumpster access at the Shenandoah River Outfitters (less than a mile from the property).  The house manager can take them for a tip of $5 per bag, if you would prefer.

High Ridge

This log-and-stone style cabin is located high in the Blue Ridge mountains at around 3,000 feet elevation. It is in the same area as the Shenandoah National Forest and this property borders the park land. You will not see another human being for a half mile in any direction, but you'll see plenty of deer, bear, and wildlife!

Some notes about High Ridge: 

Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out may be available, please feel free to ask!

Pets are welcome! Maximum of 2 dogs with a $50 pet fee per dog - No cats allowed, sorry!

PLEASE NOTE for November - March bookings: During these winter months, a four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle is required. While there are plenty of dry weekends during those months where a regular vehicle would be fine, you cannot know that in advance. Please take this warning seriously for those months. The rest of the year, regular 2wd vehicles are fine.

Welcome to Poppy's Hideaway, our family getaway, a name provided by our five grandsons. The cabin offers 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, warm cozy amenities, and a huge yard space, located directly on the Shenandoah River! One king bed and two queen beds will comfortably sleep six and we have additional bedding for a max of 8. The kitchen offers gas cooking, a refrigerator with an ice maker, and everything you will need for a great meal.  If you'd rather cook outside, we've got you covered with both gas and charcoal grills. Wi-fi and satellite TV will keep you connected.  There is a landline phone with free local and long-distance calling.  There are books, board games, and movies to rummage through.  Everywhere you turn, this house has what you're looking for!
